Starting to pack with 7 days to go

Thank you to everyone who donated clothes, sports equipment, toys, school supplies, shoes and even 2 handmade baby blankets, to take to kids in the orphanages and local schools. I am also doing some last minute Spanish "cramming" to try to have at least a few words to say to my host family. I won't be very talkative for a while!!! School ends tomorrow, so then I can really focus on getting ready ( along with hosting David's 18th birthday celebration and celebrating Canada Day!). Adios!! Next entry will be from the public library, when I'll try to download pictures from my digital camera. The technological learning curve for this trip is BIG!

Twelve days to go!

I leave for Nicaragua in just a few weeks and I'm getting excited! Today I start taking Malaria pills. Yesterday, my school newsletter had an article about my trip, with donation opportunities of school supplies, sports equipment, clothes, and shoes. I plan to pack little for myself, so that I can take many items to donate to charities in Granada.
